Activity And Recreation
What to see and to do:
- Walk the suspension bridge between Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan.
- Visit the Lembongan Village seaweed farms; the view across the estuary is spectacular. Birdwatchers should look out for flashes of turquoise and white; these are the sacred kingfishers, similar to the collared kingfisher but slightly smaller, and common to this island.
- Snorkel at Crystal Bay; the coral here is a must-see and largely untouched.
- Watch the legendary Lembongan sunsets above the crashing waves.
- Visit the bizarre ‘Rumah di Bawah Tanah’, an Underground House that was built back in the 1960s by a local priest acting upon divine inspiration. The house has a living room, bedrooms and kitchen, with walls, tunnels, nooks and crannies carved out of natural limestone, but no one actually lives here.
- Pura Puncak Sari is the biggest temple on the island, positioned on a hill; the views looking across to Bali are breathtaking.
